FIRSTTRAX FACTS - Maintenance Tips

To keep your plow in good working condition for years to come, it’s important to conduct routine checks on key areas and occasionally perform maintenance.
Here are some helpful tips:

• Occasionally check the oil level. If a top-up is required, fill the reservoir with a suitable match to the manufacturer’s specifications

• If your oil level becomes low regularly, be sure to check all hoses, fittings and cylinders to ensure system is sealed

• Occasionally, check the plow over for lose fasteners and tighten as required

Snowplow Storage Tips

• Clean and grease exposed cylinder shafts, as well as electrical connections

• To prolong the snowplow’s finish, wash off and oil the plow with Rust Check or another suitable rust deterrent.

• Ensure you trip the breaker on the main wire feed for the off-season
